Arizona is located in the desert southwest region of the United States. Four other states border Arizona: New Mexico to the east; Utah to the north; and Nevada and California to the west. Arizona shares a border with Mexico to the south and today almost one-third of the state’s population is of Hispanic or Latino heritage. Arizona’s diversity includes many people of Asian descent along with nearly a quarter of a million Native Americans.
